SBC Standard Entry Requirements - Undergraduate Programmes

SBC Year 1 Entry (NCUK International Foundation Year): | |

Age and School Attendance Requirements:* |
Applicants must normally be 17 years of age by 30th September in the year of entry to SBC Year 1. They must have completed 12 years of school education including completion of year 12 and achieved a satisfactory level of pass in the Year 12 school leaving examinations. |

English Language Requirements:* |
A minimum of IELTS 5.0 in all components (or equivalent **). |

Academic Requirements - Standard Qualifications:*
|
(a) International Baccalaureate:
A minimum of 22 points.
or:
(b) UK GCSE, IGCSE or Cambridge O Levels:
A minimum of 3 A Grades and 2 B Grades including Mathematics and Science subjects (or relevant subjects depending on Business or Engineering streams).
or:
(c) UK A2 Levels:
A minimum of one E grade.
or:
(d) UK AS Levels:
A minimum of 2 E grades. |

Mathematics Requirements: |
An acceptable level of Maths is required. |
* SBC may consider applications from students who have not met the standard entry criteria above, including age, schooling, English language and academic qualifications received in other countries, on a case by case basis.

Applicants who have not taken a recognized English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL may take the SBC Entrance Exam (Pre-Year 1).

SBC Year 2 Entry (NCUK International Diploma): | |
|
Age and School Attendance Requirements:* |
Students should normally be 18 years of age by 30th September in the year of entry to SBC Year 2. |
|
English Language Requirements:* |
· A minimum of IELTS 5.5 in all components (or equivalent **).
· A minimum of IELTS 6.0 in all components (or equivalent **) is required to be exempt from the SBC Year 2 EAP Revision Course.
· A minimum of IELTS 6.5 in all components (or equivalent **) is required to be eligible for entry into Sheffield, Leeds or Bradford programmes. |

Academic Requirements - Standard Qualifications*:

(a) International Baccalaureate:
A minimum of 24 points.
or:
(b) Cambridge A Levels:
A minimum of two D Grades.
or:
(c) Advanced Placement (AP) and SAT Reasoning Test:
A minimum of 550 in each part (math + verbal) of SAT I and either:
· Advanced Placement Tests (AP) in two or more individual subjects at Grade 3 or
· Two SAT subject tests (SAT II) with a minimum of 550 in each;
or:
(d) NCUK International Foundation Year Programme (IFY):
A minimum of 120 NCUK Points from two subjects following study of the NCUK IFY programme. (A minimum of 320 points is required for entry into |

Mathematics Requirements:
|
· Engineering routes - a minimum of A Level Grade D (or equivalent).
· Accounting and Finance routes - a minimum of O Level Grade C (GCSE) or equivalent. To be eligible for certain universities, grades C to A are required. |

Physics Requirements: |
· Engineering routes - a minimum of A Level Grade D (or equivalent) is required. |
